The boys season finale
It’s an epic battle with high-stakes, especially for Kimiko after the loss of her brother. Everyone is (miraculously) fine, but it leaves Becca, Butcher and Ryan no choice but to run-off on foot while everyone else stays to fight Stormfront. Right as Mother’s Milk is driving the car away, Stormfront returns and flips it over. The CIA isn’t as safe as Vought, sure, but he can’t break his promise to Becca and needs the two to stay together. He comes clean with Becca about everything and tells Mother Milk to take the two of them away - not to Stan, but to Mallory. His decision, ultimately, is the right one. They get him and make their way back to the car, which is when it’s time for Butcher to make his decision. She flies away from the cabin to head to the tower to deal with the backlash, giving our heroes the opportunity they need to strike.Īfter drawing Homelander outside with some loudspeakers, Butcher and Becca run in to grab Ryan. They do so and the story about Stormfront being a Nazi quickly goes viral. He steals some files within the church about Stormfront (she used to be a member, after all) and delivers them to Hughie and Starlight to leak to the press. More good news: After overhearing a conversation between Stan and Adana about how A-Train isn’t going to get back into the Seven because of Stormfront’s racism, A-Train decides it’s time to act.

Stan agrees and tells Butcher that he’s at a cabin up north, which is where Homelander and Stormfront are trying to teach Ryan how to use his powers. He doesn’t tell Becca this, of course, which later puts him in an awkward position when Becca tells him to promise that she and Ryan won’t ever be separated again. There’s one catch: Butcher will give Ryan back to Stan so they can hide him away from Homelander again (better this time, hopefully), but Butcher’s insistent Becca stays with him.

He calls Stan, arranges for a meeting and proposes a trade - if Stan tells him where Ryan is being kept, Butcher will grab Ryan and get him out of there so that Stan doesn’t have to try to navigate through that minefield anymore. Butcher is surprised to see that it’s Becca standing there, crying over how Homelander and Stormfront stole Ryan.īutcher agrees to help get him back and quickly works up a new plan. Everyone’s loading up their guns when there’s a knock on the front door. While Maeve doesn’t stop Butcher from declaring war, someone else does. She’s survived this long and isn’t about to risk it all for a plan that probably won’t work. She hears the two of them out, but quickly tells them to piss off once they’re done. Maeve, to nobody’s surprise, isn’t interested.

After the head exploding incident, Vought announced that they plan to make Compound V more widely available, as they’re labeling it as a terrorist incident and declaring that more superheroes would prevent such a thing. The timing couldn’t really be any more crucial, either. Starlight knows it’s a long-shot, but if they could get her to expose Vought on-the-record? That could be a game-changer, really. Yes, the same Maeve who’s never really stood up for much of anything, really. Even though all their plans to expose Vought seem to fail, there’s got to be a better way to do this than run in guns a’blazing, right?Įveryone agrees to give Hughie and Starlight one more day to try and work something out, so they turn to the only person they can think of - Maeve.

Starlight, who’s pretty much a member of the team at this point, and Hughie walk in to find this only to object. It doesn’t really come back around to the end of this episode, but it’s something constantly in the back of everyone’s mind (Homelander suspects it was Stan, everyone else just kind of figures it was a power play by Vought).Īt this point, Butcher and the crew are ready to declare war. There was also that whole thing with the exploding heads, lest we forget. Let’s waste no time diving right into this recap.Īfter last week’s episode, Ryan was left in the hands of Homelander and Stormfront, which, well, can’t really be good for anybody, can it? Thoughts and prayers to all of us as we now have to wait for who knows how long for the next season of The Boys.
